Baby Shower!

Baby Shower #2 took place on Saturday.  It was so much fun.  Two wonderful women from our church have been planning this shower literally for years!  It was finally the day.  The tables were decorated with cute little Panda bears with pink ribbons around their necks, and then everyone had a pink mini chinese take-out box with a couple of fortune cookies in them.  That was the Chinese part.  The American part was a picnic!! We had hotdogs, baked beans, and potato salad--how much more American can you get?

For dessert we had mini cherry cheesecakes.  They also had some pink M&Ms made with "My Baby" written on them--they were adorable and very tasty.  Here is a picture of me with them (not the M&Ms--but the two women;-)--please take notice of the pink tree--that will now adorn Rebecca's room.
Pink furry tree with Nancy and Marian!!  Thank you for a wonderful shower!

We were so blessed by so many cute outfits. dresses and bathing suits (I hope she likes swimming:-) Rebecca also got a pink vacuum, some learning toys and tons of books.  We are so excited to bring her home!
What a cute dress!!

More books! Yeah!!!

A lovely hand made cross stitched quilt!  Thank you Carol!

A bag for Rebecca's arts and crafts and other treasures!!

Today we think that we will get our I-800 approval.  Then the paper work gets sent to Grand Rapids so that they can prepare our file to go to China (finally!!)  We are so ready to go and get her.

Another step closer to Rebecca!!

Our I-800 was approved today!!!! This is exciting news because it means that we are one step closer to our daughter, Rebecca.  From the NBC center our file is moving to the NVC (National Visa Center)  We should get approval by next week Thursday or Friday (May 24 or 25)  In the meantime, the Bethany staff in Grand Rapids will be preparing our paperwork to send to China so that it can be hand delivered to the US Consulate in Guangzhou
We think that we will then be able to apply for our Visas for travel to China.  After 2 weeks we will have our Article 5, and then we wait for travel approval from the Chinese government.  We will then, finally be able to purchase airline tickets.

In the meantime, last week I had my first shower.  It was given to me by my dear friends at Wilmington Christian School.  They made my first mother's day weekend very special!
Here are some pictures from the shower. Thank you Debbie and Elle and everyone else who came!!!

A very Yummy cream cheese cake, welcoming Rebecca.

A precious Asien doll--she will travel with us when we go to pick up Rebecca.

Homemade bibs and other goodies.

Taking time to read the books;-)

Another musical toy!!

My WCS friends (family)

More WCS Friends (family)

This weekend I have shower #2 at my Church.  We are so blessed by God to have such great friends and family.  We are also preparing another care package for Rebecca.   We hope to get that to her before we leave for China.  (I would send her one each day, but that might be too much --and then we would have to take it all home with us!)
