Two months with Rebecca!

On Saturday we celebrated two months with Rebecca in our arms.  We are so blessed to call her our daughter.  What a change from the frightened little girl who was handed to us to the giggly, mostly happy little girl who lives with us.  We can't even imagine what must go through her mind each day as she learns more words.  She is learning every day.  She can say boy, car, horse, house, girl, nigh-nigh (night-night for those of you who need a translation!)  She says mama, baba (daddy)-ball, and a few others that escape me.  She also knows some sign language (her favorite sign--and the first one she learned is car) She can also sign please, thank you, more, and hungry.  She also is leaning I love you!  She also does animal sounds--ruff, and oink--plus she can scratch under her arms and go ooo-oo-oo like a monkey--we are so proud of our ability to teach her useful things!

It has been so much fun seeing her personality shine through.  She likes to walk on her own, but also enjoys a stroll in the stroller.  She LOVES going to the park, swinging on the swings, sliding down the slides and watching the other kids play.  We try to go as often as we can--as she also enjoys being outside.  We are not a big fan of rainy days.  She also likes going to church--she sings with us on the hymns, and then goes to the nursery to play with the other kids during the sermon.  We also go to Coffee-Break on Wednesday mornings--so that is another opportunity for her to play with her children.

Other things she likes--She keeps our house in order--no door will ever be left open without a "scolding" from Rebecca.  She also will pick up any dirt or trash that we have around the house and throw it away.  She likes to help me dust and is getting used to the vacuum (the real one--she loves her toy vacuum-I only wish it really picked up dirt!  She likes to help us recylce--I was surprised the first time she picked up a piece of cardboard, took my hand and led me to where we keep the container (in the garage)  She is so smart--and she is learning more each day.

She is still very attached to mommy--I am working on being able to leave her--but she is not always willing to let me.  In the meantime--she is growing more attached to daddy.  She loves it when he comes home from work.  While I make dinner, she is totally Daddy's little girl.  At dinner time, only daddy can help her put food on her spoon or fork, and apparently only Daddy is capable of lifting her out of the high chair.  I love watching their relationship grow more and more each day.

We try to visit Grandmom and Grandpop once a week.  She has fun playing with the ball with them and eating ice cream:-)

We also had some visiters from Michigan in September--my mom and sister, Brenda came for a few days.

We are looking forward to a lifetime with Rebecca--we know that she will grow into the beautiful young woman that God created her to be!
